We used to go to a barbecue place in Ohio called Burbanks  that served the most delicious sweet potatoe casserole.  I tried recipe after recipe and altered them over and over to no avail.  Finally a few years ago I finally got it where I want it.  It’s a bit rich and could almost be dessert, but then so was the one my memory stored.  I hope you will try and enjoy it.

  1. I love sweet potato casserole and could eat it for dessert too. We don’t have sweet potatoes in cans here but I can make this casserole from fresh sweet potatoes! Looks delicious!

    • Maureen…I so love that you share info about Australia with us! No canned sweet potatoes that’s interesting….they are convenient but I have used fresh as well and it works just as well…the potatoes from a can are a bit sweeter although I drain the juice and a bit moister from sitting in the liquid is all. Thanks for dropping by!

  2. Mmmmmm….this sounds fabulous, Karen! Perfect side for any holiday!!! Happy Easter!

  3. That’s great that you finally got the recipe that you were after-it’s a great feeling isn’t it! 🙂

    • I didn’t like sweet potatoes before having this at Burbanks. I will eat them baked as well…but still add butter and brown sugar…sweet tooth always wins!
